Bristle Field Guide

Grooming appointment reminders

Opening Today files reminders for upcoming visits. Email is logged in the outbox. SMS is not sent.

When a reminder is filed

The day view looks for visits whose status is booked or confirmed and whose start is inside the next 24 hours. Each of those visits gets one email row if the client has an email, and one SMS row if the client has a phone. Running the pass again does not add a second row for the same channel. You can also send from the visit. A cancelled, completed, or no-show visit is not reminded.

The message names the pet, the service, the groomer, and the local day and time. It asks the client to reply if they need a different time. Nothing in the app reads that reply.

What actually goes out

Email is written to the outbox and marked logged. It is not delivered to the client's inbox. SMS uses the same send path and stops at a stub, so a carrier is never called and the outbox says the SMS was not sent. There is no per-message charge, because no message is handed to a provider that bills.

There is no marketing blast and no campaign list. To record an outreach opt-out, use Unsubscribe. Deposits are a separate gap: they are not available.
